A trusted cloud ecosystem
As coordinators of CloudWATCH (www.cloudwatchhub.eu), on Tuesday 20 October we are hosting a session on Dependable Cloud as part of the European drive towards services that are trusted, transparent, secure and reliable. The session will offer a deep dive into cloud service level agreements (Cloud SLAs), with SLA-Ready (www.sla-ready.eu) building tools and services to help small firms make informed decisions on which services to use, what to expect and what to trust. The session also looks at how CLARUS (www.clarussecure.eu) is addressing data privacy, aso explaining the role of certification schemes, which CloudWATCH has identified and analysed with the Cloud Security Alliance.
On Wednesday 21 October, CloudWATCH is co-hosting a session with CloudCatalyst and CloudSocket on: A trusted cloud ecosystem - How to help SMEs innovate in the cloud. The session brings European research and innovation initiatives face-to-face with the very stakeholders they are serving in order to ensure that they are thinking strategically and that their solutions really meet the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
On Thursday 22 October, Silvana Muscella, Trust-IT CEO, is chairing a session on cyber security: Key challenges in end-to-end privacy/security in untrusted environments. This session features a lightning talk on WISER (www.cyberwiser.eu), which is rolling out a set of tools for cyber risk management, benefitting multiple sectors, ICT-intensive SMEs and owners of critical and complex infrastructures.

Open Science
Open science makes scientific processes more efficient, transparent and effective by bringing new tools for scientific collaboration, experiments and analysis and by making scientific knowledge more easily accessible. Open science also enables the emergence of new scientific practices, disciplines and paradigms to respond to the new challenges facing society, where citizens also play a part in global distributed collaborations while benefitting from new or better scientific knowledge.
RDA (https://rd-alliance.org/node) and EUDAT (http://eudat.eu/) will showcase how they are supporting open science at the e-Infrastructures Stand in the European Village.
