5GPPP brochure

The 5G Infrastructure Public Private Partnership (5GPPP) Programme, encompassing 93 projects across three phases, is nearing completion, with 8 Phase 3 projects extending into 2024. A key component to showcase the challenging trials and pilots accomplished by this program has been the "5G Trials Brochure," a publication that showcases the significant results and impacts of these projects. The brochure, published in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023, has served as a comprehensive guide to the advancements and innovations achieved in European telecommunications, particularly in the development and application of 5G technologies, and set the stage for the transition to 6G networks, including the 6G Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking.

The 2023 brochure highlighted the successes of Phase 2 and 3 projects in implementing 5G technology across various sectors such as automotive, industry, media, public safety, and more. The first three editions of the brochure already spotlighted 30 of the most impactful trials and pilots. The latest, Brochure No. 4, added 10 more trials and pilots to this list, chosen based on their impact, technological and market readiness, and societal benefits. Each project featured in the brochure includes a detailed flyer that outlines its network architecture, deployment aspects, significant outcomes, and the specific advantages of 5G technology.

This brochure, along with other resources like the PPP verticals cartography, white papers, and webinars, offers an in-depth view of the 5G Infrastructure PPP Programme's achievements. It highlights the social impact and innovation potential of these trials and pilots, demonstrating the significant strides made in 5G technology and its applications.

Our role

Trust-IT has been involved in several projects sponsored by the 5GPPP's initiative: 5G-ENSURE, Global5G. Full5G. Currently, Trust-IT is involved in three flagship CSA initiatives linked to the final stages of 5G development and 6G transition (6GStart), as well as new 6G development horizons (SNS ICE and SNS OPS) aiming to build a collaborative environment for the 6G Smart Networks and Services (SNS) Joint Undertaking, the next public-private partnership spurring the development of 6G. Its role involves monitoring and analysing the technological KPIs and societal KVIs that SNS phase 1 projects will achieve, creating a framework for the 6G-IA Tests, Measurement and Validation Working Group&nbsp (TMV WG). Second, outlining a pre-standardisation roadmap for SNS JU RIA projects will culminate in a standards tracker based on the work with 5G PPP and 6GStart. Third, engaging relevant through a Vertical Engagement Tracker online platform will collect use cases and new verticals and translate them into requirements for SNS research activities and standardisation inputs. Fourth, contributing to gap analyses through whitepapers and policy briefs and drafting an exploitation plan mapping SNS ICE KERs.
