The Andalusian Centre of Innovation and Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) was founded in March 2002 as a non-profit private foundation, located in the Technological Park of Andalusia, in Malaga at south of Spain. Due to its activities, strategies and objectives, together with its capacity for innovation and technology transfer, it has gained the category of Technology Centre within the Spanish Science and Technology System (Sistema Español de Ciencia y Tecnología, SECYT), with a governing board composed by 38 entities from public and private sector. It also holds the same position at regional level and it is the only Andalusian technology centre that specializes in the ICT sector. Encouragement of the participation of enterprises, entities and public and private organizations in national and international R&D support programmes. Foresting collaboration and co-operation with other national and international organizations to achieve common goals, creating associations and consortia and participating in technological networks and platforms with specific objectives. And also leading the organization of training activities, technical symposiums and seminars for scientific-technical training of people related to the sector.
