The Science Mesh – Global Platform for Scientific Collaboration

The workshop as a dialoguing with early adopters and potential vendors in light of the final development, deployment and adoption of the Science Mesh

From the 24th to the 28th of January 2022, the CS3MESH4EOSC project, in collaboration with cs3community.org, organised the second edition of the Cs3 Conference. Although in an online format, the conference has been as informative and collaborative as the previous editions. The choice to have shorter sessions gave more opportunities for interaction and networking allocated time slots.

The topics discussed during the conference ranged from collaborative platforms to products that synchronise and distribute files. From this conference the CS3MESH4EOSC project got a whole afternoon to talk about their main asset, the Science Mesh.

The science mesh provides an interoperable platform to easily sync & share, and deploy applications and software components within the full CS3 community to extend functionalities of the service. From the Science Mesh workshop, the main actors and the project partners had the opportunity to highlight different key benefits useful for the stakeholders and all the users that want to join the platform:

  • Understand applications and usage of the Science Mesh through demonstrations
  • Grab the opportunity to embrace research opportunities on Enterprise file synchronisation and sharing (EFSS) product development;
  • Learn about how to adopt Science Mesh and increase the offer of services for collaborative research and working environments;
  • See how Science Mesh responds to the goals of the CS3 Community;
  • Join collaboration opportunities on connecting data
  • Gain a whole new understanding of how Science Mesh supports European policies regarding the research infrastructures and open science.
  • Learn about how Science Mesh benefits the users, in terms of managing, sync and sharing data in an easier way.

Our role

While the Project coordinator is CERN, Trust-IT is the CS3MESH4EOSC partner, leader of the WP5 and in charge of communication and dissemination activities. Trust-IT fully organised this Science Mesh half-day workshop, getting in contact with the speakers, building the agenda, promoting the event in an omnichannel way and collecting information & material, helpful to disseminate outcomes and to raise awareness on the project's activities.

Engaging your strategic community to ensure uptake of research solutions requires a structured approach, deep analytical skills, and the design and implementation of communication and engagement plans made up of a mix of techniques and tools. Trust-IT can give you all the support that you need to make this happen.

If you need to identify and build the perfect audience for your research activity, boost your community and organise virtual and live events, contact us, we would be happy to help.
