On 14 September 2020, the report about the Landscape of EOSC-related infrastructures and initiatives was published. The main goal of the report is to give a clear overview of the activities carried out by each Member State (MS) and Associated Country (AC). The importance of getting this general overview is key since the EOSC will be implemented by joint efforts between the European Commission (EC), the EU MSs and ACs, research communities, and other stakeholders.

The Report is a point of reference and a useful entry point to start to familiarise yourself with EOSC Working Groups defining the EOSC architecture, rules for participants, FAIR Principles, skills and training and sustainability models and all EOSC infrastructures and initiatives related to the EOSC landscape.

The Structure of the report

  • In Chapter 1 (Introduction) and Chapter 2 (background) an overview of the EOSC policy development is provided, including the current status of the EOSC implementation and the contribution of the EOSC-related projects
  • In Chapter 3 (EOSC relevant infrastructures and initiatives) it is summarised specific information about EOSC-relevant e-infrastructures (Data and Computing Infrastructures and Networking), thematic infrastructures from EU MSs and ACs, and EOSC-related projects from the Horizon 2020 framework programme. The goal of the chapter is to give an up to date overview of available infrastructures and initiatives in all EU MSs and ACs.
  • In chapter 4 (National policy and legislation strategies) an overview is provided of the initial landscaping exercise of EU MSs and ACs. Furthermore, it also gives specific information on national policy making bodies, national strategic documents, implementing and funding bodies as well as national legislation. The goal of the chapter is to present an up to date overview of the available strategies and policies from all EU MSs and ACs.
