Trust-IT, as a communication and dissemination partner for FAIR-EASE, invites you to participate in the fourth webinar of the project, titled “Unlocking the Power of RO-Crate for FAIR Research Data.” Scheduled for August 29th, 2024, from 11:00 to 12:00 CEST, this session will offer an exploration of RO-Crate, a tool designed to enhance the Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability (FAIR) of research data.

Launched in 2022, the FAIR-EASE project aims to customise and operate distributed and integrated services for the observation and modelling of the Earth system, environment, and biodiversity. The project focuses on improving various components of these services in collaboration with user communities, the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), and research infrastructures, ensuring their design and sustainable availability. Previous webinars in this series covered topics such as the functionality of the Data Lake and strategies for effectively utilising oceanographic data through Galaxy Europe.

The upcoming session will spotlight RO-Crate, a framework that simplifies the packaging and description of research data and associated resources into a structured, machine-readable format. RO-Crate helps advance data sharing, improve reproducibility, and support the long-term preservation of research outputs.

Key Takeaways for Participants

  • Overview of RO-Crate: An exploration of its main features and benefits.
  • Enhancing Data Sharing and Reproducibility: How RO-Crate supports better data management practices.
  • Practical Applications: Real-world use cases demonstrating RO-Crate in action.
  • Implementation Guidance: Steps to integrate RO-Crate into your research workflows.

Who should attend this webinar?

This webinar is particularly relevant for researchers, data managers, and professionals in research institutions who aim to improve their data management practices. By attending, you will gain practical knowledge of how to implement RO-Crate in your research environment, contributing to more effective collaborative science.
