ALLPROS.eu is proud to have participated in ERACON 2023, the 19th edition of the annual Erasmus Congress and Exhibition, which took place at the Tor Vergata University of Rome on 26-30 June 2023.
The Congress incentivises the production and dissemination of presentations, roundtable discussions, and written papers to an international audience. The main themes of the event include not only those strictly related to the Erasmus+ programme (such as Erasmus+ & Pandemic, Quality of Erasmus Activities, Erasmus Good Practices, etc) but also those related to international mobility, funding & policy, innovation, and integration.
Trust-IT, which coordinates the ALLPROS.eu project, participated in an hour-long roundtable discussion on Tuesday 27th titled “Women in tech: let’s break the silicon ceiling!”, in collaboration with the European Centre for Women and Technology and the Women Leadership Hub. The roundtable focused on the issues women face in entering and succeeding in STEM as well as how to reconcile EU economic objectives with the goal of diversity & inclusion.
The European Center for Women and Technology provided some relevant statistics as well as highlighting the main actors in the field, while the Women Leadership Hub presented its findings on the main hurdles women face in the field. The event was the perfect opportunity to showcase the work ALLPROS.eu is doing to foster diversity & inclusion and attract more women professionals to the semiconductor industry, as well as acting as a coordinating force for actors in the semiconductor field all across Europe. In particular, the presentation focused on the macro-to-micro models of implementation to achieve the desired results: the “triple-helix approach” of deepened academia-industry-government cooperation, the “school nexus” as the focal point of systemic outreach efforts, and the “direct interface” with young students and young professionals online.
Gender inclusion is a key issue for ALLPROS.eu, not only as a matter of principle but also due to its vital importance to the creation of a competitive, flexible, and open business sector. To support this, ALLPROS.eu creates videos and campaigns such as Semiconductors industry deserves more women on board - ALLPROS.eu, which was shown as part of the roundtable event.
