IAM4RE.eu: Why Dissemination & Exploitation Are at the Heart of Knowledge Valorisation

The true value of research lies not just in scientific output but in its ability to generate real-world impact. From data and know-how to software and standards, the knowledge created within Europe’s Public Research Organisations (PROs) and Academic Institutions (AcIs) has immense potential. But potential needs direction, visibility, and uptake and this is what the EU-funded IAM4RE.eu project comes in designing and delivering support services to help research institutions to valorise knowledge through Intellectual Asset Management and standardisation.

In leading IAM4RE.eu’s dissemination and engagement activities, Trust-IT Services is not just tasked with “spreading the word” – we’re also helping build a community of practice around Knowledge Valorisation and Standardisation. For us, this isn’t about ticking boxes. It’s about enabling long-term change.

Why Dissemination Matters

IAM4RE.eu is rethinking how research institutions manage their intangible assets. But rethinking isn’t enough – we need to reach the right people, in the right way, at the right time. From researchers and tech transfer offices to policy makers and educators, each audience plays a role in shaping a more entrepreneurial, impact-driven research culture.

Our goal is to break down complex concepts and turn them into accessible, useful resources. Dissemination in IAM4RE.eu is about storytelling, visibility, and accessibility, using websites, videos, social media, publications, events, and partnerships to open up conversations around Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) and standardisation, which are key aspects of the EC’s drive towards knowledge valorisation.

A Powerful Kick-Off for a Consortium Built on Complementary Strengths

The IAM4RE.eu project officially launched on 1st April 2025, with the Kick-off Meeting held on 9 April 2025. This first gathering brought all partners together to align visions, share ambitions, and lay the groundwork for the collaborative journey ahead. It marked the beginning of a vibrant partnership between key players in research valorisation, innovation management, and policy development across Europe.

At the heart of this collaboration is a consortium carefully built around complementary expertise. IAM4RE.eu brings together organisations with deep experience in communication, exploitation, policy, training, technology transfer, research support, and platform development. This diversity enables the project to approach intellectual asset management and knowledge valorisation from multiple angles, ensuring practical, scalable, and impactful solutions. Each partner plays a vital role in turning the project’s vision into sustainable results.

Sharing Is the Mission

At its core, IAM4RE.eu is a project about sharing knowledge, not just within institutions, but across borders, sectors, and disciplines. Dissemination and exploitation are not peripheral activities. They are central to the mission.

By aligning with the EU Codes of Practice and working closely with a consortium of engaged, experienced partners, we’re helping PROs and AcIs across Europe move from fragmented practices to shared strategies. We’re building bridges between research and its broader societal and economic context – and that can only happen if the message is clear, the tools are available, and the users are empowered.

So yes – we are proud to lead IAM4RE.eu’s communication, dissemination, engagement, sustainability and platform efforts in making the project not only visible but valuable. Because visibility without usability is noise. And knowledge without action is potential, unfulfilled.

The IAM4RE.eu project has only begun; there is much more to come. Follow us to know more about the impact of our projects!
