Destination Earth is a flagship initiative of the European Commission to develop a highly-accurate digital twin of the Earth to model, monitor and simulate natural phenomena, hazards and the related human activities.
As part of the DestinE Platform Use Cases Project, Coordinated by Starion Italia, we are responsible for the design, implementation and management of the initiative's website destination-earth.eu. We also carry out graphic and multimedia production and event support, and manage the website’s editorial process, coordinating a team of copywriters and reviewers from the three entrusted entities (ESA, ECMWF, EUMETSAT) and the European Commission.
Our design and management of the Destination Earth website has yielded impressive results. We have registered an average of 6,190 monthly visits, highlighting our success in creating an engaging online presence that has seen 100 new members join our community every month. Additionally, our team’s efforts in graphic and multimedia production have significantly enhanced user experience, and we have had an average of 238 registrations per webinar that we have organised. Our coordination of the editorial process with key entities ensures that content remains relevant and informative, effectively supporting the initiative's objectives.
