Digital Twin Solutions for Sea-Ice Modelling: TerraDT and NOCOS DT Joint Workshop

The Event
The Digital Twin Solutions for Sea-Ice Modelling Joint Workshop will bring together leading scientists, technology developers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to explore the latest advances in digital twin technologies for the cryosphere.
Organised by TerraDT and NOCOS DT, this two-day event focuses on how high-resolution simulations and digital twin solutions can improve understanding of sea-ice dynamics, support safer navigation in polar regions, and provide actionable data for climate adaptation and marine planning.
The programme features keynote talks, technical sessions, panel discussions, and poster presentations.
Trust-IT’s Role
Trust-IT supported the setup of this interactive format which encourages knowledge exchange across projects, disciplines, and application domains, ensuring participants gain both scientific and practical insights.
Drawing on our involvement in multiple EU-funded digital twin initiatives, we help connect the dots between projects, communities, and application domains. Our role is to:
- Support the creation of a community of practice across the ocean, ice, and broader digital twin ecosystems;
- Build synergies that maximise the impact of individual project results while advancing shared European objectives;
- Manage outreach and promotion of the event across European and global research communities;
- Ensure workshop outputs contribute to the broader Destination Earth initiative and align with European priorities in digital twins for climate resilience.
Through this, Trust-IT helps transform project outcomes into a wider collaborative effort, strengthening Europe’s leadership in digital twin solutions for climate and environmental challenges.
