Hosted by agrifoodTEF, this pivotal gathering in Milan will showcase the significant progress made by the EU’s Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs) since their launch by the European Commission in 2023. 

This event represents a crucial turning point for the TEF ecosystem, bringing together key stakeholders to witness the next leap in technological development.

As Ursula von der Leyen stressed in her State of the Union speech on 10 September 2025, her priorities find their practical expression in Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs). TEFs play a critical role in ensuring that European innovation meets today's challenges head-on, delivering robust and trustworthy technological solutions that secure our continent's leadership while keeping human values at the core.

In this context, this event will offer a unique window into how the EU's network of TEFs, including CoordinaTEF, agrifoodTEF, TEF-Health, CitCom.ai, and AI-Matters, are accelerating the market uptake of trustworthy AI and robotics across key sectors.

What This Event Means for the CoordinaTEF Community

On 1 October, the full-day conference will feature high-level sessions, including:

  • Discussions on strategic alignment between TEFs and other key EU initiatives, including AI Factories, Data Spaces, and European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs);

  • Policy perspectives by representatives of the European Commission’s AI Office and Member States, including Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT).
