Brief description

The SNS Co-Op project supports and coordinates the European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) community, ensuring the integration of current and future phases of its activities. With the SNS Initiative set to grow to around R&I 80 projects, SNS Co-Op provides essential programme coordination, strategic activity orchestration, and community engagement to advance 6G innovation.

The project builds on the strengths of previous initiatives (SNS OPS, SNS ICE, and 6GStart), facilitating stakeholder collaboration, engagement with vertical industry domains, strategic positioning, facilitation of standardisation activities, and alignment within the broader European and global 6G ecosystem. It also promotes the accomplishments of the SNS JU programme in international fora such as  the EUCNC & 6G Summit and Techritory Forum.

Our Role

As WP 4 leader, Trust-IT will lead dissemination and communication activities and
contribute to the preparation of the project’s publications. Trust-IT will also take a leadership role in the maintenance and update of the SNS Tracker tools,including the Vertical Engagement Tracker the Standards Tracker, and the KPIs Radars..Finally, it will also support the work on 6G network KPIs and KVIs and the impact analyses with deliverables and policy documents.

Impact

The SNS Co-Op project is designed to maximise the impact of the European Smart Networks and Services (SNS) Initiative in achieving the EU’s digital targets for 2030. By coordinating and supporting over 80 R&ISNS projects, the initiative focuses on fostering collaboration, standardisation, knowledge sharing, and dissemination. The project aligns closely with the SNS JU’s strategic objectives to enhance Europe’s leadership in 6G development and adoption.

Key impact areas include:

  • Refining the 6G Vision: Updating the SNS strategy in alignment with technological advancements and promoting it to relevant sectors.
  • Measuring Progress: Developing KPIs and KVIs to assess the impact of the SNS programme.
  • Comprehensive Implementation: Ensuring a holistic approach to 6G SNS development and addressing critical gaps.
  • Promoting Achievements: Disseminating European 6G innovations globally and fostering collaboration with international 6G initiatives.
  • Expanding Stakeholder Engagement: Mobilising key industries and vertical sectors to adopt 6G technologies.
  • Policy Alignment: Contributing to European values and policies through strategic collaborations and white papers.

Through these efforts, the SNS Co-Op project seeks to solidify Europe’s position as a global leader in the transition to 6G.
