Mastering Data Citation: Insights from GBIF

06 Nov 2023

Mark your calendar for November 6th, as BIODT invites you to be a part of their second webinar series "Mastering Data Citation", a collaboration with the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). This event, taking place from 15:00 to 16:00 CET, is your opportunity to dive deep into the vital practice of data citation.

Why is data citation so essential in the realm of biodiversity data? It serves as the cornerstone for transparency, credibility, and collaboration within this research field. By acknowledging the hard work of data collectors and curators, it paves the way for sharing and integrating valuable biodiversity datasets, unlocking the full potential of this critical scientific resource.

This webinar is dedicated to shedding light on the pivotal aspects of recognising and attributing biodiversity research datasets. We will also provide best practices for standardised dataset citations that properly acknowledge their creators and sources. The goal is to make data more discoverable and reusable and to give due credit to those who tirelessly collect and manage it.

This webinar is tailored for a diverse audience, including researchers, data scientists, conservationists, students, and anyone with an interest in biodiversity research and data management. Whether you're a seasoned expert in the field or just beginning your journey, our webinar promises to deliver valuable insights and resources to enhance your research practices.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to join the BIODT project on November 6, 2023, and let GBIF experts guide you through the essential techniques for citing biodiversity data effectively. It's a chance to enrich your understanding and skills in the world of biodiversity research.
