StandICT.eu Standards Leadership Webinar: Supporting SMEs participation in European and international standardisation
The "Standardisation Leadership Webinar: Supporting the participation of SMEs in European and international standardisation", will take place online on 28 November from 16:00 to 17:00 CET.
StandICT.eu Objectives
StandICT.eu 2026 is considered the "go-to" project on ICT standards in Europe. The fundamental objective of the third edition of this project, is to build on the momentum of StandICT.eu 2023 and StandICT.eu 2020, and provide continued support to activities that strengthen Europe's global reach in the ICT standardisation ecosystem.
The StandICT.eu Standards Training Academy and Mentorship Programme are components of the project that help elevate expertise in ICT standardisation and educate the new generation of standardisation experts. The Standards Training Academy consists of comprehensive educational training modules, adapted to level of standardisation expertise, to appeal to and meet the needs of a wide range of stakeholders on their standardisation journey.
The Mentorship Programme is a one-to-one educational experience, connecting newcoming SME funded fellows with more experienced fellows. This relationship enables SME fellows with less experience to learn from experts in the field on typical processes and activities involved in carrying out work as within a Technical Committees or Working Groups of European and international Standards Developing Organisations (SDOs).
Webinar Background
StandICT.eu 2026 has organised a webinar to provide guidance to SMEs on how to get involved with and lead ICT standardisation efforts and activities. The event has been organised under the "Meeting Standards" campaign, a European initiative led by Small Business Standards, focused on supporting SMEs with a framework of knowledge and skills to enhance their understanding of the benefits and impact of standardisation.
The webinar specifically aims to connect SMEs that are not yet directly involved in standardisation processes with the resources, experts and existing support mechanisms to facilitate their involvement in the advancement of European and global ICT standards development.
The hour and a half session will include presentations from standardisation experts with leading roles in different European and international standards organisations, discussions from current StandICT.eu Mentors and Mentees, as well as a thorough breakdown of the SME-targeted support resources and materials offered by StandICT.eu.
