We are delighted to celebrate the European Council's final approval of the Nature Restoration Law, a historic regulation aimed at revitalising Europe's natural habitats. This legislation sets ambitious targets to restore at least 20% of the EU's land and sea areas by 2030, with the goal of restoring all ecosystems in need by 2050. This marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts to combat climate change, mitigate natural disasters, and preserve biodiversity. The Nature Restoration Law demonstrates the EU's dedication to pressing environmental challenges, outlining specific, legally binding targets for restoring diverse ecosystems.

By prioritising the restoration of degraded habitats and preventing further deterioration, this regulation paves the way for a sustainable and resilient future. At Trust-IT Services, we are proud to contribute through various projects that align with the Nature Restoration Law. The BioDiversity Digital Twin (BioDT) project is developing digital twins of biodiversity habitats, providing advanced simulation and prediction models for conservation and restoration efforts. Another project working on the development of a digital twin is DTO-BioFlow which is contributing to marine restoration by providing innovative and sustainable solutions for integrating both existing and new data into the EU Digital Twin Ocean

We also support soil health through the Prepsoil project, laying the groundwork for the 'Soil Deal for Europe,' and the Nati00ns project, which engages 44 countries in creating a network of living labs and lighthouses for healthier soils. Finally, the SOILL project will design and deliver services supporting a network of 100 soil health living labs and lighthouses.

Trust-IT Services is also involved in the BOOST4BIOEAST project, aiming to bridge the bioeconomy gap in Central and Eastern Europe. This project facilitates connections, knowledge transfer, and upskilling to develop national bioeconomy Action Plans (APs), with Trust-IT Services constructing the BIOEAST Knowledge Platform. The successful implementation of the Nature Restoration Law requires collaborative efforts from policymakers, scientists, industry experts, and the broader community. As we move forward, we are dedicated to providing insights, fostering innovation, and supporting sustainable practices. The approval of the Nature Restoration Law is a call to action for all of us. Join us in celebrating this achievement and participating in efforts to restore and protect our natural environments. Together, we can make a difference on the health of our planet and ensure a sustainable future for future generations.
