The New European Bauhaus (NEB), a European initiative drawing inspiration from the Bauhaus movement, aims to bring the principles of the European Green Deal into our living spaces through sustainability, aesthetics and inclusivity.
As part of NEB’s ecosystem, digiNEB.eu aims to bridge the gap between local and digital communities, establishing a pan-European digital ecosystem which is composed of:
- Digital Toolkit: a catalogue with over 200 digital solutions for the NEB ecosystem;
- Observatory: a collection of 500 EU-funded initiatives and success stories to raise awareness towards NEB programmes and the benefits of digital solutions and encourage collaborations;
- eLearning catalogue: a collaborative online set of courses and training materials to stimulate knowledge and share best practices.
- Thematic Working Groups (TWG): a forum space for discussions on main topics, supported by Flarum software.
- Early Adopters Network: a dedicated page featuring project ambassadors sharing insights on the digital solutions adopted.
- External Advisory Group (EAG): a group of esteemed professionals from various disciplines offering expertise and guidance to the project.
This digital space is hosted on the digiNEB.eu platform, a user-friendly platform which serves as the central communication hub and primary channel for engaging with targeted stakeholders and encouraging their active participation in the NEB community. Alongside other communication channels, the website disseminates core content and messages to inform stakeholders, share project results, and provide access to NEB digital solutions. The platform is essential for achieving digiNEB.eu's sustainability strategy.
A new website iteration (Rel. 2.0) was recently launched as part of the project's work plan. The development of the website has followed an agile methodology, allowing for continuous improvement and evolution. The first version of the website, known as Rel. 1.0, was launched in October 2022, providing the first stumbling blocks for the creation of the digiNEB.eu digital ecosystem. Building upon the initial release, a second release was recently completed.
Rel. 2.0 of the digiNEB.eu website brings several notable features and enhancements. The initiative's role in supporting the NEB initiative is now better presented, emphasising its direct impact. The observatory and digital toolkit have undergone consolidated releases, building upon the early release of Rel. 1.1 in January 2023. The Technical Working Group (TWG) pages have been launched using the open software FLARUM, offering an improved user experience interface as part of Rel. 1.2 in February 2023. Additionally, the eLearning catalogue and platform were introduced in April 2023 as part of Rel. 1.3, with 10+ training modules already available and ongoing negotiations for new additions from consortium partners and community members. The platform showcases the digiNEB.eu Early Adopters, with over 10 personal profile pages added. Users can now create an account, navigate the website, and enrich various catalogues, including the digital toolkit, success stories, and eLearning platform. Furthermore, an interactive timeline provides visitors with a detailed overview of the project's evolution, allowing them to zoom in on different milestones and events achieved each month.
To ensure a seamless user experience, the digiNEB.eu platform prioritises search engine optimisation (SEO) and adheres to user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles. It also supports various tasks outlined in the digiNEB.eu work plan. Furthermore, the platform assists the digiNEB.eu Consortium in complying with GDPR regulations and the project's Data Management Plan. Additionally, it allows for performance assessment and web analytics monitoring.
A third and final release, Rel. 3.0, is planned for March 2024 (Month 18) and will be described in D2.4 "digiNEB.eu web platform, Rel. 3.0." The iterative approach ensures the website's continuous enhancement and aligns with the project's timeline and goals.
