On 20 February 2025, the StandICT.eu and SEEBLOCKS.eu teams participated in the 42nd meeting of the European Multi-Stakeholder Platform (MSP) on ICT standardisation, alongside INSTAR Standards, Indico Global, GIST, and BlockStand.eu.

Chaired by the European Commission Directorate-General Communication, Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), the MSP meeting is designed as a forum for representatives to exchange dialogue related to the implementation of ICT standardisation policies and regulations.

This meeting highlights the importance of European project activities in advancing European standardisation best practices and the ICT rolling plan. The collaborative and interactive format of the meeting fosters advisory services and encourages experts to provide quality feedback to StandICT.eu, SEEBLOCKS.eu and other like-minded initiatives.

The SEEBLOCKS.eu project, which is set to conclude in May 2025, has been instrumental in supporting European experts in blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT) standardisation, with its contributions spanning +60 standardisation documents (as of January 2025), technical reports, and specifications. The project has also developed a dedicated Standards Visualisation Tool and training courses to foster capacity building in blockchain/DLT standardisation.

Through its targeted engagement and funding efforts, SEEBLOCKS.eu has facilitated the participation of experts in major international standardisation activities, aligning their work with EU priorities. Notably, the project has supported 33 funded proposals, contributed to various global blockchain standardisation efforts, and delivered landscape reports on blockchain and DLT standardisation gaps.

As SEEBLOCKS.eu approaches its conclusion, we are pleased to invite stakeholders to its Final Event on 10 April 2025 in Brussels. This event will highlight SEEBLOCKS.eu's contributions to European blockchain and DLT standardisation, featuring discussions on the European Rolling Plan for ICT Standardisation and showcasing the work of 20 blockchain experts. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with international standardisation leaders and gain insights into the future of blockchain and DLT standardisation in Europe.

StandICT.eu 2026, a key EU initiative supporting ICT standardisation, was also represented at the MSP meeting. The project continues to provide funding opportunities for experts, with its Open Call 8 currently active. StandICT.eu 2026 remains committed to strengthening Europe's role in global ICT standardisation through fellowships, research, and community-building efforts.

Maria Giuffrida, Senior Researcher at Trust-IT Services, represented StandICT.eu at the meeting, bringing visibility to key project achievements, as well as active funding opportunities and upcoming events.
