Last Thursday, 12th December, Trust-IT premises gave room to Trust-IT’s Unconference – coined back in the early 2010s as prioritising participant-driven conference model, which served as a unique opportunity for our team to come together, share ideas, and focus on improvement and innovation. There are generally four rules of unconference: Rule 1, whoever shows up is the right person; Rule 2, whatever happens is the only thing that could happen; Rule 3, whenever it starts is the right time; The 4th and final rule is, it's over when it's over
Building upon our agile approach to work every day put the team in an adept position to manoeuvring the afternoon, where we witnessed colleagues from across Italy and beyond gather at our Tuscan headquarters and take advantage of the festive season, when we decided to recharge from our regular activities to concentrate on a pampering session of peer-to-peer learning, collaboration, show-and-tell and creativity .

The event was structured around 12 very diverse sessions that ranged from CliftonStrengths 2.0 to Figma shortcuts & NotebookLM and lots more, organised into three parallel tracks, offering an array of different discussion topics fit for everyone. From insightful talks and brainstorming sessions to live demonstrations, each session reflected our team's diverse expertise and creativity. The format encouraged cross-departmental collaboration, with our teams stepping out of their comfort zones to engage with colleagues from different business and research areas. This exchange of ideas and perspectives sparked innovation, laid the groundwork for new processes, and generated a wealth of actionable insights.

“Seeing the team in a different light, where they showed genuine excitement in showing off a new tool, they had discovered how to improve their daily processes or exchange ideas with their fellow teammates. Inquisitive in asking questions to learn more about the topics under discussion was so stimulating that we have decided to use this as a regular form of training, in addition to our weekly Thursday training sessions we have from now on & will be a priority for us in 2025“
said Emanuel Marzini, CIO at Trust-IT/COMMpla.

The value of the Unconference lay not only in the knowledge shared but also in the connections made and strengthened. It was a chance to look each other in the eye, give everyone a voice, and ensure that each individual’s unique contribution was recognised as part of the collective DNA of Trust-IT. This ethos of inclusivity and collaboration underpins everything we do, and it was inspiring to see how each person’s input enriched the discussions and outcomes of the day.

At Trust-IT, we firmly believe that our people are our greatest asset. Their passion, ideas, and dedication drive us to excel in Europe and beyond. Events like Trust in Unconference remind us of the importance of creating spaces where we can reflect, grow, and innovate together.

As we move forward, the energy and ideas generated during the Unconference will fuel our efforts to enhance our processes, improve efficiency, and deliver even greater value to our clients and partners. Here's to building a stronger, more collaborative future – together.
