European Convergence Summit 2024 - Accelerating CO2 Reduction with ADR Innovations
The European Convergence Summit (ECS) 2024, organised by the Adra-e project, is scheduled to take place online on 19 June 2024.
The ECS is a high-level event that aims to bring together influential figures from various backgrounds to support co-programming of the Artificial Intelligence Data and Robotics (ADR) partnership, define orientations for ADR research and innovation in Europe with respect to socioeconomic issues, and build a consensus among stakeholders. The overarching theme of the event will be the impact of ADR on energy/CO2 reduction.
With a focus on addressing socioeconomic challenges, the summit will feature three main blocks:
· Block 1: European Strategies in ADR In this session, participants will gain insights into Europe's current position in the global ADR landscape. Discussions will revolve around the increasing demand for intelligent systems across industries and the continent's strategic initiatives in driving ADR innovation.
· Block 2: ADR and Environmental Issues The second block will deep dive into the role of ADR in environmental sustainability. Experts will explore the paradoxical relationship between technology and the environment, discussing strategies to leverage ADR for reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change.
· Block 3: Public Involvement and Normative Issues In this session, the focus will be on legal, ethical, and regulatory considerations surrounding ADR technology. Discussions will center on the need for robust frameworks to ensure the ethical use of ADR and prevent potential misuse. Additionally, the socio-economic impact of ADR technology on the job market and workforce development will be examined.
In addition the ECS will feature the ADR Exhibition, showcasing demonstrations of successful interactions between AI, Data, and Robotics technologies. Participating projects will have the opportunity to highlight their innovative solutions and engage with attendees.
The summit will conclude with a foresight panel, outlining future paths for ADR based on the discussions and exhibition showcases. Key recommendations for R&D funding priorities will be provided, guiding the way forward for ADR innovation in Europe.
