Brief description

INDIGO-DataCloud (INtegrating Distributed data Infrastructures for Global ExplOitation), a project funded under the Horizon2020 framework program of the European Union and lead by the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), aimed at developing a data and computing platform targeting scientific communities, deployable on multiple hardware and provisioned over hybrid (private or public) e-infrastructures. By filling existing gaps in Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) levels, INDIGO-DataCloud helped developers, resources providers, e-infrastructures and scientific communities to overcome current challenges in the Cloud computing, storage and network areas. INDIGO-DataCloud released two Software catalogues including 40 modular components, distributed via 170 software packages, and about 50 ready-to-use Docker containers for effective discovery and use of distributed data and compute resources. Everything is released with an open source license and is freely downloadable from the INDIGO-DataCloud website.
